Steve Bittner/Times-News These teen mothers recently graduated from the non-traditional program at the YMCA Family Center. Pictured, from left, are Rebecca Simon with daughter Destiny Studli, Kristine Ridgeley with son Zeus Chamberlain and Kendra Martin with son Kenneth Martin. The program offers teens a chance to catch up on academics missed while away from school. Upon completion, the students are prepared to return to school at the same level as their peers. In the meantime, their children join playmates who come to the center from all parts of the community. Staff also make home visits to isolated rural families to give them parenting support and encourage them to come to the center.
