CUMBERLAND — Area business and community partners have an important role in the development of a strategic plan that will guide Allegany College of Maryland well into the next decade.
Their insight, provided in a brief survey, will help ACM planners gain the community’s perspective to ensure that the college’s goals and priorities meet the education needs of the region.
The college embarked on a comprehensive planning pro-cess in November.
President Bruce Exstrom initiated the wide-ranging effort with meetings of faculty and staff. The process to develop the 2009-2014 strategic plan concludes in May with a presentation to the Board of Trustees.
“The strategic plan is a critical component to the future direction of ACM,” Exstrom said. “However, it is critical to collect input not only from college-related personnel but also members of the community and the region we serve.
Community and business partners’ responses on the External Constituent Survey will address such subjects as awareness of the college, use of its programs and opinion of its effectiveness.
The survey is available online at www.allegany.edu/ survey. Paper copies are available at the Office of Institutional Research, (301) 784-5207.
Responses are due by Jan. 23.
