Davis announces candidacy for House of Delegates seat

For the Cumberland Times-News

Editor's note: The following announcement was submitted by Alan Davis for his candidacy.

Alan "Mitch" Davis announced he has filed his candidacy papers for the House of Delegates seat in the 50th District.

Mitch is a lifelong resident of Hampshire County and owns and operates Critter Getters Pest Control and Consulting LLC.

He is married to Patricia L. Davis and they work jointly on community projects such as the Hampshire County Cancer Coalition, Hampshire County United Way and Relay for Life.

He is currently vice president of the Hampshire County Planning Commission and serves on the U.S. Route 50 Association as the governor's representative, on the Hampshire County Infrastructure Committee, a member of the Hampshire County Farm Bureau, a lifetime member of the North American Hunting Club and the Romney Moose No. 1371.

Mitch believes in responsive government and is a people person. Some of his goals to fulfill for the people of the 50th District and the state are: a strong and well-financed education system - children are our future; a fair and equitable tax system, ways to better serve our senior citizens and those who are disabled, our veterans, fire departments and rescue squads; ways to bring different and new infrastructure projects to the district, such as better ways to fund our county and state roads, water and sewer, to name a few; a return to "common-sense" government that is responsive to our people; and a commitment to help enhance the business climate in West Virginia to stimulate jobs and economic opportunities.

Mitch is available to meet with any individual, group or association to listen to concerns and solutions you may have. He will not only work for the 50th District, which covers a large portion of Hampshire County and three precincts in Mineral County, but both counties as a whole.

You can contact Mitch at davis4house@frontier.net or by mail at HC 65 Box 990, Romney, WV 26757.

I will commit to you to run my campaign on the present and future needs of Hampshire and Mineral counties. Everyone working together can achieve our goals for the communities in which we live to solve the challenges we face now and in the future.

Please join with Alan "Mitch" Davis and his candidacy to help bring change, economic growth and a bright and promising future for generations to come. Please remember, "Together we can make a difference."
