LUKE - An unidentified Oakland man was admitted to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va., and a second man was treated at Potomac Valley Hospital in Keyser, W.Va., early Sunday following a confrontation at a residence in the town of Luke.
Police said the Garrett County man was taken to Potomac Valley Hospital by private vehicle before being transferred to Ruby Memorial. No information was available concerning his condition.
The incident occurred at a Mullen Street residence. A 20-year-old resident of that location was later treated at Potomac Valley Hospital for facial lacerations after he apparently attempted to enter a residence in Piedmont at about 4:30 a.m.
A C3I spokesman said both men were injured in an altercation that occurred on the front porch of the Mullen Street residence at about 3 a.m.
The scene of the incident was processed by crime scene specialists. A kitchen knife was discovered in the front yard and glass from a broken storm door window was discovered on the porch.
Police have not yet determined if the knife was used in the incident or if the lacerations were the result of being cut by broken glass. There was no blood on the knife when it was found.
The identities of both men are being withheld, pending further investigation, according to a C3I spokesman.
Mineral County sheriff's deputies responded to the Keyser hospital after being notified of the incident. Deputies also investigated at the Piedmont residence where the second victim was located.
