Health advisory due to overflows

CUMBERLAND - The Allegany County Health Department has issued a public health advisory after being notified of combined sewer and storm water overflows.

A tributary of Evitts Creek near the Ioka pumping station, Pea Vine Run, Jennings Run at Locust Grove and Frostburg, Wills Creek at Corriganville, Georges Creek in Frostburg, North Branch of the Potomac River in Cresaptown and Sand Spring Run all received overflows due to recent heavy rainfall.

The public is cautioned to avoid the waters of the receiving streams until bacteria levels return to normal. For more information, call (301) 759-5040.
