Paw Paw woman dies in Rt. 51 crash

From Staff Reports
Cumberland Times-News

OLDTOWN — A 55-year-old Paw Paw, W.Va., woman was killed Tuesday when her SUV traveled out of control and overturned on Oldtown Road near Crabtree Lane.

Bonita L. Spencer died at the scene of the 6:13 a.m. accident, the Allegany County Bureau of Police said.

Police said Spencer was operating a 2000 Chevy Blazer northbound on state Route 51 when it traveled off the highway and up an embankment before it overturned onto its roof.

Dense fog may have been a contributing factor to the accident, police said. The road was closed for about two hours.

Oldtown, Paw Paw, and District 16 volunteer firefighter units also responded, according to the Allegany County 911 Joint Communications Division.

Anyone who witnessed the accident is asked to call the Bureau of Police at (301) 777-1000.
