Northern performs ‘Wedding Singer’

ACCIDENT — Northern Garrett High School is concluding its theatrical season with the musical “The Wedding Singer” today and Saturday at 8 p.m.

The musical stars seniors Jeremy Beitzel, Lara Beitzel, Jesse Biser, Amanda Brenneman, Laura Butner, Trevor DeVore, Kristen DeWitt, Dylan Gallagher, Wil Herpel, Travis McFarland, Cora Owens, Helen Owens and Linzi Sisler.

Juniors Mallory Brenneman and Kaitlyn Walker; sophomore Austin Doerr; and freshmen Alex Baker, Chelsie Beitzel, Derek Broadwater, Alexandria Glotfelty, Ashley Miller, Sierra Pierce and Aubray West are also performing.

The musical is directed by faculty member Nathan Marshall and sophomore Jennifer Shaffer.



Westernport to flush water system

WESTERNPORT — The town of Westernport will flush its water system and hydrants beginning Tuesday on Westernport Hill, downtown and in Franklin-Brophytown.

The schedule also includes:

• Wednesday: Horse Rock, Stoney Run Road, Kelley Avenue, March Avenue, Baughman Street, Likens Street, Greene Street and Arnolds Lane.

• Thursday: Roosevelt Street, McKinley Street, Central Avenue, Miller Street, Quality Street, Philos Avenue, Clay Street, Potomac Street, Smoot Street, Jamesson Avenue, Kalbaugh Street, Gordon Street and the lower end of Greene Street.



Blood drive honors Fort Hill student

CUMBERLAND — Fort Hill High School will hold a blood drive Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in honor of Ashten Zegles, whose leg was amputated following an automobile accident.
