BALTIMORE (AP) — The Maryland State Highway Administration says a slow-moving oversized load expected to arrive on state highways Thursday evening has already arrived at its destination in Linthicum.
SHA spokesman David Buck says the truck arrived in Maryland about 11 p.m. Wednesday and traveled from Washington County to Northrop Grumman’s electronic systems facility without any backups. It arrived at the destination at 2:30 a.m. Thursday.
The truck was carrying a 28-foot-wide steel antenna base from Texas.
The SHA is apologizing for any confusion about the schedule. Officials say the truck’s five-day permit for travel through the state was effective late Wednesday night, and the proper police escorts were in place to begin the trip.
