Run will cause traffic delays
LONACONING — Due to the running of the 20th Annual Iron Furnace 5K, there will be some brief traffic delays in the Lonaconing area today from 7:55 to 8:30 a.m.
The following roads will be affected: State Route 36 from George’s Creek Elementary School to Rockville Street, Rockville Street, Water Station Run, Florida Way, Railroad Street, Robin Street, Union Street and Jackson Street.
Sewer overflow in Barton
CUMBERLAND — The Allegany County Health Department has issued a public health advisory following a combined sewer and storm water overflow into Georges Creek at Barton.
The public is cautioned to avoid the water until bacteria levels have returned to normal. For more information, call (301) 759-5040.
Purse party this afternoon
RIDGELEY, W.Va. — A purse party open house to benefit Frankfort Athletic Boosters/Miss Falcon Contestant Keirsten Foreman will be held today from 2 to 4 p.m. at the first house on the left on Detrick Road.
Signs will be posted on state Route 28. A huge variety of purses will be available.
Opry presenting final show of season
MOOREFIELD, W.Va. — The Country Store Opry will present a classic country music show Saturday at the McCoy Theater in Moorefield at 7 p.m.
