Ridgeley offices closed Friday; meeting schedule announced

RIDGELEY, W.Va. — The Ridgeley Town Hall will be closed Friday in observance of the Fourth of July holiday.

The town will continue to hold regular meetings the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in Town Hall.

Any cancellations or alterations will be announced. Each meeting agenda is posted at Town Hall five days before the meeting.



Cumberland man latest Times-News bingo winner

CUMBERLAND — Steve Collins of Amherst Avenue won the Times-News bingo game when his cover-all card was drawn at random Monday afternoon.

The winning prize was $250.



Fundraiser to help cancer victim

CUMBERLAND — Friends and family of Rachel Sensabaugh are hosting a spaghetti dinner next week to raise money to pay for experimental cancer treatments.The dinner will be from 4 to 8 p.m. July 7 at the Kozy Kettle Restaurant, 346 Bedford Valley Road.

Sensabaugh, 20, of Frostburg, was diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer in November 2005 and had been in remission when doctors discovered tumors in her lung last winter. Insurance has declined to pay for an expensive drug called Sargamostim, which Sensabaugh’s doctors believe she needs to beat the cancer.
