Brethren church holding Bible school

FURNACE ACRES, W.Va. — Vacation Bible school for children ages 3 and older will be held at the Old Furnace Church of the Brethren, Old Furnace Road, off state Route 28, Monday through Friday from 6 to 8:15 p.m.

There will also be an adult class. The theme is Studio Go! Game Show.

Royal Restaurant site and subject of program

KEYSER, W.Va. — The Royal Restaurant in downtown Keyser will be both the location and the subject of the August meeting of the Mineral County Historical Society.

Beginning Wednesday at 7 p.m., Keyser High School freshman Lauren Rosedale will present a brief history of the popular eatery that has been a downtown landmark for more than a century.

The program is open to the public free of charge.

Rosedale’s research project on the history of the Royal was her entry in last year’s social studies fair, when she was an eighth-grade student at Frankfort Middle School.



God’s Ark of Safety taking Angel Food orders

FROSTBURG — God’s Ark of Safety, Cherry Lane, Frostburg, will take Angel Food orders Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Aug. 17.

Angel food Ministries has removed the limitations on food boxes purchased. Participants no longer need to buy the top-line boxes (Signature, Allergen Free and Senior Convenience) to qualify for any of the special boxes.
