OAKLAND - Christopher Andrew Thompson, 23, is scheduled to appear in Garrett County Circuit Court on Friday at 9:30 a.m. where a judge will be presented with a finding by forensic psychiatrists that Thompson is not criminally responsible for the bludgeoning death of his adoptive father in February.
Andrew Clever, 49, was found dead in his Avilton home after Thompson placed a call to 911 saying he believed he had killed someone.
Thompson was eventually examined by doctors at Clifton T. Perkins Hospital Center in Jessup.
"The judge will have to make a decision whether or not to accept the recommendation from Perkins," Raymond Strubin, Thompson's public defender, told the Times-News earlier this summer. Strubin said such decisions rarely happen the same day as the hearing.
