Lonaconing woman sentenced for selling cocaine in Keyser

Judge hands down 33-month term in U.S. District Court

ELKINS, W.Va. — A 21-year-old Lonaconing woman was sentenced to a 33-month prison term recently in U.S. District Court for distribution of cocaine in Keyser in January 2007.

Cassandra Rotruck was sentenced by Chief Judge John P. Bailey to 33 months imprisonment followed by three years of supervised release.

Rotruck entered a guilty plea in October 2007 to one count of distribution of cocaine hydrochloride on Jan. 19 in Keyser.

As part of her plea, Rotruck agreed to forfeit $420 as well as a 52-inch television, games and video equipment that were derived from the sale of cocaine hydrochloride.

Following sentencing on Aug. 20, Rotruck was placed in the custody of the U.S. Marshal.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Thomas Mucklow following investigation by the Potomac Highlands Drug & Violent Crime Task Force, consisting of officers from the West Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations, the Hampshire County Sheriff’s Department and the Pendleton County Sheriff’s Department.
