Postal Service plan online
CUMBERLAND — The U.S. Postal Service has released Vision 2013, its new five-year strategic plan that is designed to balance near-term priorities with long-term needs.
The plan is available online at www.usps.com/strategicplanning/vision2013.htm.
Financial fair Oct. 25 at ACM
CUMBERLAND — A Credit Union Financial Fitness Fair will be held Oct. 25 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Allegany College of Maryland’s Continuing Education Building.
Classes will be held on Making the Right Money Moves for Students, Estate Planning, Understanding Your Credit Report and Saving for Retirement.
Free one-on-one financial advice and credit reports will be available in addition to food, prize drawings, face painting, balloon animals and a kids zone.
The event is sponsored by the Maryland and District of Columbia Credit Union Association, Cumberland Human Relations Commission and area credit unions.
City historic group to meet
CUMBERLAND — The Cumberland Historic Preservation Commission will meet Wednesday at 4 p.m. at City Hall.
Certificates of appropriateness will be considered for 317 Washington St., James Bange; 47 Baltimore St., Rosario Chevez; and 406 Washington St., J.W. Knell.
A request for recommendation for Klots Throwing Mill, 917 Gay St., for the National Register of Historic Places is also on the agenda.
Ellerslie church holding bazaar
ELLERSLIE — Ellerslie United Methodist Church will hold its annual fall bazaar today from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the church. The Kandy Korner and homemade crafts will be featured and the Thrift Shop will open at 9 a.m.
Lunch and dinner will be served and will include hot turkey sandwiches, salad plates, homemade rolls, chili burgers, hot dogs, kraut dogs, chicken noodle soup, and a variety of homemade pies. Carryouts will be available.
The event is open to the public.
