Turbines at the NedPower Wind Farm at Mount Storm stand at attention prepared to go into service this month generating electricity into a nearby substation that will feed the PJM grid.

The grid transmits electricity to homes, business and industry in 13 eastern states from Ohio to the East Coast.

The wind farm project will be jointly operated by Shell WindEnergy and Dominion Power.

It is located along a ridgeline adjacent to the Dominion Power Plant at Mount Storm, a coal-fired electric generating plant that also feeds into the power grid.
