Ridgeley incident nets 3 arrests

Police cruiser damaged in disturbance

From Staff Reports
Cumberland Times-News

RIDGELEY, W.Va. — Three people were arrested at about 3 a.m. Thursday after Ridgeley Police responded to Mineral Street to investigate a disturbance complaint.

Patrick L. Kneisley, 38, of Cumberland, was arrested on charges of assault, public intoxication, disorderly conduct, destruction of property and obstructing police officer and was jailed at the Potomac Highlands Regional Jail in Augusta on $3,750 bond.

Gregory T. Laisure, 20, of Moore’s Hollow Road, was charged with assault and fleeing from a police officer before he was jailed in the regional detention center in lieu of $1,250 bond.

Stacy M. Morgan, 24, of Cumberland, was charged with driving under the influence and was released after posting $875 bond.

All three defendants appeared in bond hearings conducted by Mineral County Magistrate David Harman.

Ridgeley Police Chief Mike Miller responded to Mineral Street, where a group of people allegedly were making threats against a resident. Kneisley refused to comply with orders to not create a disturbance, police said. He also kicked out the rear window of a Ridgeley police cruiser, Miller said.

Laisure attempted to run from the area and Morgan was attempting to drive away from the area, according to court records.

Police also are investigating an attempted break-in of the Ridgeley Police Department, where a door was damaged, and damage to Miller’s personal vehicle that oc-curred at his residence in the Alternate Route 28 area. An estimated $300 in damages was done to the vehicle while police were on Mineral Street, police said.

Mineral County sheriff’s deputies and West Virginia State Police assisted the Ridgeley police.
