CUMBERLAND - The Allegany County Board of Education's Adult Education Office will hold orientation for students who wish to earn a high school diploma or improve basic reading and math skills Monday at 6 p.m.
Individuals interested in enrolling in the Adult Education/GED classes or joining the External Diploma Program must attend an orientation at the board of education office at 108 Washington St.
Students will be given an overview of the two diploma options and class site information. They will complete placement assessments. Preregistration is requested.
Students who complete the orientation are eligible to enroll in the classes, where they may prepare to take the GED test and upgrade basic skills. Classes are held at eight area locations, with morning, afternoon and evening sessions available. The second option allows students to enroll in the External Program with appointments at two sites to meet with an assessor on a one-to-one basis, completing work at home.
To register for the orientation, call (301) 729-4736.
