Bingo winner named

CUMBERLAND — Ebbie Lambert of Cumberland won the latest Times-News bingo game.

The winner is required to cover all the numbers on one of the bingo cards that is distributed at the beginning of the game in the newspaper. All winning cards that are brought in by the close of business the day the winning numbers appear in the paper are put into a lottery drawing and the winner’s name is drawn that day.

The winner receives a $250 prize.



ACM course set

CUMBERLAND — The stages of adolescent development are the subject of a new continuing education course scheduled Nov. 12 at Allegany College of Maryland.

Developmental Tasks of Adolescents: Stages of Development is geared toward professional counselors, social workers, psychologists and addictions counselors to enable them to differentiate between serious problems of dysfunction and issues that occur naturally in normal development.

Instructor Olivia Myers is a licensed clinical social worker who has served as executive director of Junction Inc., a community outpatient substance abuse counseling center, for more than 25 years. She’s taught social work courses at the college level and leads workshops for the state’s Office of Education for Addictions Services.

The course meets from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Center for Continuing Education. The deadline to register is Thursday. For more information, contact Christa Snyder, human services coordinator, at (301) 784-5530.



Bruce alumni to meet

RAWLINGS — The Bruce High School class of 1953 will meet for a buffet lunch Monday at Fore Sisters Golf Club. A social hour will begin at 11 a.m. and lunch will be served at noon.
