Tribute to Veterans

Nick Boinovych of Keyser stands beside a poem he wrote a couple of years ago. He brought the poem loaded on the back of his truck to the World War II Memorial veterans service in Cumberland. Boinovych is a member of American Legion Post 41 in Keyser.



At the Veterans Day parade in Keyser, Girl Scout Troop 619 was honored to have three of the Girl Scouts’ grandfathers ride on their float. They were Eugene Tasker, Army, Vietnam War veteran; Al Martin, Sgt. first class retired, 28 years, West Virginia Army National Guard, Battery C; and Jack Suter, Air Force veteran. Scouts who participated were Jordyn Custer, Shannon Kephart, Lucy Litten, Kari Amtower, Tori-Lyn Martin, Grace Burgess, Taryn Thompson, Jenna Custer, Abby Slaughter, Hunter Powell, Katie Amtower, Jillian Cook, Sara Powell, and Cheyenne Thompson.
