Annual PACE Reception will feature at least 24 displays

Event scheduled for Jan. 28-29 in Annapolis

CUMBERLAND — With 24 displays scheduled for the annual PACE Reception in Annapolis, the event will be filled to capacity by organizations touting the benefits of Mountain Maryland.

Now in the 34th year, PACE provides the opportunity to educate state legislators and state and federal government officials about Allegany and Garrett counties.

Displayers committed to participating in the Jan. 28 and 29 event at the Loews Annapolis Hotel include Allegheny Power, The Greater Cumberland Committee, Frostburg State University, Allegany College of Maryland, Garrett College, Maryland Broadband Cooperative, Mountain Maryland Trails/ Garrett Trails, Path Education & Awareness, Allegany County Tourism, Allegany Museum, Alliant Technical Systems, Rocky Gap Lodge & Golf Resort, Waste Management, Western Maryland GIS, Western Maryland Health System, Bill’s Marine, Clipper Windpower, Garrett County Chamber of Commerce, Pillar Innovations, Samson Co., Savage River Lodge, Think Outside, Thrasher Engineering and Wisp Report.

The Cumberland-Allegany County Industrial Foundation and Garrett County Development Corp. are PACE hosts. The theme is “Think Green — Think Mountain Maryland.”

PACE Committee co-chairs are Bob Smith and David Moe.

The PACE reception will be held Jan. 28 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. The Friday breakfast at 8 a.m. will feature Gov. Martin O’ Malley as the speaker.

Tickets for the two-day event are available for $115 per person if payment is received by Jan. 4 and $150 after that date. Checks should be made payable to the Annapolis Reception Committee and mailed to Mountain Maryland PACE, P.O. Box 3273, LaVale, MD 21504-3273. Tickets are not available at the event.
