Toy drive under way

CUMBERLAND — The Gently Loved Toy drive is under way for its third year to provide children and families the opportunity to share the toys they no longer use with the community.

The campaign’s theme is Given with Love to Children from Children. The toys will be packaged according to gender and age and delivered to patients at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center by Dec. 18.

Toys must be in good shape with all parts working and all pieces included. They can only be wooden, plastic, rubber or metal so that they can be cleaned appropriately and should be no larger than 18 inches.

Appropriate items include games, puzzles, books, rattles, toddler toys, balls, cars, trucks, action figures, play figurines, musical instruments and educational games and toys. Any toys that are not delivered to the hospital will be given to Goodwill.

The drop-off point is the office of Dr. Marc DiNola, 122 Bedford St., or contact Jill DiNola at (301) 606-7882 for a more convenient location.
