Various volunteer fire companies responded to a fire that broke out Monday in a Cresaptown residence along U.S. Route 220 in the vicinity of Calvary Christian Academy, according to the Allegany County 911 center. Initial reports indicated a “working fire” was in progress in the structure shortly after 2 p.m. Firefighters were then called back to the residence after the fire rekindled shortly after 5 p.m. Allegany County Fire Police were also dispatched to the area for traffic control of heavily traveled U.S. 220 not far from Winchester Road. The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office also responded to the incident. No further information was available.
