Friendsville man fatally shot; Preston County resident charged in slaying

Suspect killed victim with 12-gauge shotgun, according to court records

— BRUCETON MILLS, W.Va. — A Garrett County man was shot and killed Saturday and a Preston County man was charged in his death when police arrived to investigate the incident, according to West Virginia State Police at Kingwood.

Jerame Adam Sine, 33, of Friendsville, was killed in the 6:35 p.m. shooting in the 3200 block of Maryland Line Road in Bruceton Mills.

Police charged Justin Michael Fontaine, 28, of Bruceton Mills, with first-degree murder. He was being held without bond Monday afternoon at the Tygart Valley Regional Jail.

The incident remains under investigation by Trooper A.N. Alton of the Kingwood detachment.

Preston County deputies also responded to the scene after receiving a “shots-fired” complaint.

Court records indicated the shooting occurred at Fontaine’s residence and that Fontaine reportedly shot the victim in the face with a 12-gauge shotgun. The arrest was made at the scene without incident.

No motive has been indicated by police.
