Early voting for excess levy

KEYSER, W.Va. — Early voting to reauthorize the excess levy for street maintenance and related work will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in City Hall.

The special election will be held in Keyser on March 23.

This vote does not represent a raise in the levy rate, but continues the current rate.

School board to consider budget

CUMBERLAND — The Allegany County Board of Education will meet in a special session Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Central Office, 108 Washington St.,  to consider adopting the superintendent’s proposed fiscal 2014 operating budget.  

The board will meet in executive session at 5 p.m. to discuss personnel and consult with counsel.

All meetings except executive sessions are open to the public.

Fort Hill seeks color guard instructor

CUMBERLAND — The Fort Hill High School Marching Band is seeking a qualified person to instruct the color guard for the 2013-2014 marching season.

Resumes are due by March 27 and can be emailed to director@forthillband.com or mailed to Joseph Thompson, Fort Hill High School, 500 Greenway Ave., Cumberland, MD 21502.
