Snowshoe opening call center in Elkins

ELKINS, W.Va. — Snowshoe Mountain has announced it will open a new 5,000-square-foot call center this fall, bringing 30 jobs to Randolph County.

The facility will open at the West Virginia Wood Technology Center in Elkins. Sales and reservations will be handled by the center.

“The combination of a perfect nearby location, existing infrastructure and larger local labor force is ideal for the needs of Snowshoe as we continue to grow year-round visits to the mountain,” said David Dekema, sales and marketing director at Snowshoe. “We currently manage well over 120,000 calls a year, and we are adding new state-of-the-art systems to allow us to understand and address guest inquiries more quickly and effectively than ever,” he said.

Snowshoe’s current sales and reservations call center is located onsite at Snowshoe Mountain. The primary call center will continue to operate there. The new Elkins facility will offer better protection against power outages or service interruptions caused by major winter storms.

An open house and recruiting fair will be held in Elkins at the new facility on Sept. 14. The new center is expected to open in October.
