Council members to take oath of office

CUMBERLAND — The newly elected members of the Cumberland City Council will be sworn in Monday at noon in the City Hall rotunda.

Allegany County Clerk of Circuit Court Dawne Lindsey will swear in David Caporale and Nicole Wagoner.

Judge J. Frederick Sharer will serve as master of ceremonies and Father Bernard Finerty will provide the invocation.

Report cards delayed by one day

CUMBERLAND — Report card distribution for Allegany County public schools will be delayed one day this marking period.  Report cards will be distributed Jan. 29.

ACM holds later registration hours

CUMBERLAND — Allegany College of Maryland is extending regular registration hours to enroll in spring-semester classes until 6 p.m. for three days beginning Monday.

The semester begins Jan. 21. Regular registration is held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays.

A-B Term courses allow students to complete an entire course in one-half the usual time. A-Term classes begin with the start of the spring semester while B-Term classes commence March 19.
