LAVALE — The 2013 Potomac Council Scout Show will be held Saturday at Country Club Mall, showcasing the activities and service projects of Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts in the six-county region served by the council.
This year’s Scout Show, which will be held at the mall from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., has the theme “Scouting … Creating Tomorrow’s Super Heroes.”
“The Scout Show is quite a tradition for us,” said Don Olsen, Potomac Council Scout executive, noting that this will mark the 28th consecutive year for the event to be held.
Scout troops and Cub packs will have booths featuring themed displays and information about their various programs, along with activities in which the public can participate.
The Masons of East Gate Lodge 216 will offer free registration in the Child Identification Program, which is part of a nationwide service dedicated to assisting law enforcement agencies in locating missing children.
A commemorative yearbook for the 2013 Scout Show has been produced by General Graphics and special uniform patches incorporating this year’s theme will be presented to the participating Scouts.
