— Travis Rice of Belt Construction caulks a window atop the Allegany County Board of Education Central Office Building on Cumberland’s Washington Street Wednesday. The windows are being sealed against the elements after replacement of the sashes. The work is part of a $450,000 project that included installation of synthetic slate roofing shingles and replacement of gutters and downspouts. Wooden trim was restored and painted and new windows were installed in the rear section of the building, which was built as a private residence in 1865 by James Walsh.
