Pennsylvania State Police recover tires stolen from business in Meyersdale

Two Somerset men remain jailed in thefts

MEYERSDALE, Pa. — Pennsylvania State Police have recovered more than half of the tires stolen from Maple City Tire in Meyersdale in early December and two Somerset men are in custody.

Jailed are Joshua Allen Clites, 28, and Mark Andrew Haney, 31, on bonds of $75,000 each.

State police from Somerset and Bedford counties began an investigation following the theft of $11,200 worth of tires during the Dec. 9-11 period. Trooper Scott D. Myers, investigator, announced then that the thieves had forced entry into the business located on Chestnut Street.

Eventually, Clites and Haney were found to be in possession of a number of the tires. Included in the charges are burglary, criminal trespass and theft.

The accused, now in the Bedford County Jail, appeared before Somerset County Magistrate Douglas Bell.
