Affordable adoption

Tracy Brubaker, manager of the Allegany County Animal Shelter, 716 Furnace St., checks on one of the shelter’s adoptable cats Wednesday. Several “Secret Santas” donated adoption fees to the animal shelter over the holidays, resulting in 31 fully-sponsored animals. Twenty-two sponsored animals remain available, including a large variety of male and female dogs and cats. The donations will pay for vaccinations, spaying/neutering, microchip, deworming and first-year county license needed for dogs.

For more information, contact the shelter at 301-777-5930.
