STEM Festival features robotics

KEYSER, W.Va. — Area youths can explore a variety of robotic activities during Saturday’s Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Festival from noon to 4 p.m. at Potomac State College of West Virginia University.

Morgantown’s Mountaineer Area Robotics will provide hands-on manipulation of their competition robot by remote control. The Mineral MindStorms 4-H team will demonstrate maneuvering the LEGO Mindstorms robot they programmed for the state First Lego League Senior Challenge competition and GEARS Inc. and Garrett County 4-H Robots will offer a range of hands-on robotics activities.

Hampshire Fun Day May 4 along river

ROMNEY, W.Va. — The Hampshire County Community Fun Day will take place May 4 with a project to clean the shoreline of the South Branch of the Potomac River.

Registration will take place from 9 to 10 a.m. at the bridge on U.S. Route 50 just west of Romney.
