GRANTSVILLE — For the second time in a matter of months, thieves have stolen tires and wheels from a vehicle parked at Diehl’s Ford Sales in Grantsville.
The Garrett County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the crime, which happened sometime between July 2 at 11:45 p.m. and July 3 at 1 a.m. The tires and wheels stolen belonged to a 2013 Ford F-150 truck parked in the dealership’s National Highway lot.
According to police, two men were observed on surveillance video removing the wheels. One suspect was described as a white male, approximately 6 feet tall with a heavy build and wearing a cutoff T-shirt. The second suspected was taller with a medium to heavy build and wearing a T-shirt.
The wheels stolen were 18 inches bearing Goodyear Wrangler tires.
Police said the suspects parked a vehicle along the shoulder of U.S. Route 40 near the front of the dealership lot. Several passerby vehicles were observed on the surveillance video travelling past the parked suspect vehicle.
Police ask citizens who observed a vehicle parked in front of the dealership during the timeframe above to contact the sheriff’s office at 301-334-1911.

The sheriff’s office is continuing to investigate the March 30 theft that occurred at the business, when the suspects stole complete sets of wheels and tires from two 2013 Ford Edge vehicles parked just outside the dealership. In that crime, authorities are seeking a late 1980s or 90s Chevrolet or other General Motors brand truck.
