TGCC members meet Thursday

CUMBERLAND — The Greater Cumberland Committee will hold its first membership meeting of the new year Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at the Cumberland Country Club.  

Education Work Group chair Richard MacLennan will give an update to be followed by a presentation to highlight the importance of participation at the upcoming legislative receptions in Annapolis and Charleston, W.Va.

Bob Smith, Cumberland Allegany County Industrial Foundation president and co-chair of the PACE Committee, and Mineral County Commissioner Janice LaRue will share insight into the various legislative talking points in conjunction with TGCC’s underlying goal of regional relevance.

PACE will be held at the Annapolis Loew’s Hotel on Jan. 24-25.

Mineral County Days will be held Feb. 13-14 in Charleston.

 

School board members take oath

CUMBERLAND — Edward Root and Nicholas Hadley will be sworn in as members of the Allegany County Board of Education during a ceremony Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. at the Central Office, 108 Washington St.
