Mineral seeking Teacher of the Year nominations

KEYSER, W.Va. —  Nominations for Mineral County’s 2013-2014 Teacher of the Year are now being sought. Anyone may nominate a teacher for the recognition. Forms are available at all schools and at the Mineral County Board of Education Office.

Nominations are to be received by Susan Grady, director of personnel services, by March 29. Nominees must agree to be considered for the honor, sign the nomination form and complete the required application materials.

Mineral County’s 2012-2013 Teacher of the Year was Jeanne Clites a fifth-grade teacher at Frankfort Middle School.

Teacher of the Year candidates should be exceptionally dedicated, knowledgeable and skilled teachers in any state-approved or accredited school, prekindergarten through grade 12, who are planning to continue in an active teaching status. Supervisory and administrative responsibilities should be of a secondary consideration.

The Mineral County Board of Education along with First United Bank & Trust sponsors the Teacher of the Year Program in Mineral County schools, and the West Virginia Board of Education sponsors the program on the state level.

Questions can be directed to Grady at 304-788-4200.
