Mineral Pre-K enrollment this week

KEYSER, W.Va. — Mineral County Schools Pre-K/Head Start is conducting open enrollment through Friday at the Keyser center on West Piedmont Street for all locations within county schools.

Children must be 4 years old by Aug. 31. Children 3 years old by Aug. 31 who meet Head Start income guidelines should also apply.

To schedule an appointment, call 304-788-4216.  Parents who have already enrolled their student but have not completed the face-to-face meeting should also schedule an appointment.  

Parents must complete an online application at https://mineral.preschoolsteps.org prior to the enrollment dates and must attend the registration in person with items needed to complete enrollment:

• Child’s original state-issued certified birth certificate.  

• Child’s Social Security card.

• Verification of income for the past 12 months.

• Child’s current immunization record.

• Negative tine test within last four months if moving in from another state/country.

• A proof of residence from each category:

No student will be placed until all required items are submitted.

The first day for Pre-K/Head Start is Aug. 26.
