Big fish caught in West Virginia

One channel catfish more than 10 pounds

SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Among those honored by the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources for catching trophy fish are these anglers who live within the circulation area of the Cumberland Times-News.

Bluegill — Cameron Shillingburg, New Creek, 10-inches from a private pond in Mineral County.

Channel catfish — Brady Dean, Romney, one of 10.49 pounds and one of 6.7 pounds, both from the South Branch of Potomac River; Hunter Amtower, New Creek, 7.96 pounds, South Branch Potomac.

Largemouth bass — Lucas Davy, Purgitsville, 5.38 pounds from private pond in Mineral County.

Rainbow trout — Steven Brown, Moorefield, 4.4 pounds, South Fork of South Branch of Potomac; Scott M. Durr, Keyser, 4.41 pounds, North Fork of South Branch Potomac; Jeremy Riggleman, Petersburg, 4.37 and 5.76 pounds, both from North Fork South Branch of Potomac; Hunter Kisamore, Maysville, 5.38 pounds, North Fork of South Branch Potomac; Eric Russell Veach, Burlington, 21.5 inches, North Fork of South Branch Potomac.

Sunfish — Zakkary Abbott Keplinger, Old Fields, 11 inches, private pond in Grant County; Landon Cy Fazenbaker, Piedmont, 10.1 inches, private pond in Mineral County.
