Democrats seek committee members

CUMBERLAND — CUMBERLAND — The Allegany County Democratic Central Committee is seeking candidates to fill vacancies on the committee.

The committee acts as the governing body and official spokesman for the Democratic Party in Allegany County on matters of public policy and promotes the interest of the party and its candidates for elected office. Candidates must be registered Democratic Party voters and residents of Allegany County.

Letters of interest with a resume and evidence of voter registration are due by Aug. 12 to Allegany County Democratic Central Committee, P.O. Box 927, Cumberland, MD 21501 or 

The committee will hold a public meeting Aug. 20 at 5 p.m. at the Lavale Library to interview applicants and fill vacancies.
