Garrett County fishing contest winners announced

— The Garrett County Fishing Contest, sponsored by Deep Creek Outfitters Hardware and Bait House and the Garrett County Chamber of Commerce, is in full swing.

There were 4 entries and 3 winners for the week ending July 12, 2014:

Largemouth Bass: two pounds, 15. 5 inches, caught by Patty Pool of Elkridge, MD

Smallmouth Bass: three pounds, 17. 5 inches caught by George Walters of Swanton, MD

Crappie: 1 lb. eight ounces, 14. 5 inches caught by Maude Rounds of Grantsville, MD

Weekly winners are awarded a certificate and certificates are also awarded for the season’s largest catches of bluegill, brown trout, chain pickerel, crappies, largemouth and smallmouth bass, northern pike, rainbow trout, walleye and yellow perch. 

To enter the contest, enter your catch at Deep Creek Outfitters Hardware and Bait House at 32 Outfitters Way, McHenry, MD. 

The fishing contest runs from the first weekend in May through the first weekend in October.
