Keyser man pleads guilty to charge of child pornography

KEYSER, W. VA. — A Mineral County man is awaiting sentencing after he pleaded guilty to a child pornography possession charge in U.S. District Court in Martinsburg.

Phillip Wayne Wertz, 46, of Keyser entered a plea of guilty to possession of child pornography in a hearing before Magistrate Judge James Seibert.

Wertz, who is free on bond pending sentencing, faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Paul Camilletti and investigated by the West Virginia State Police.
