— Brownie Sadie Magruder, 9, of Lonaconing displays her winning entry commemorating the 100th year of the Girl Scouting. Scouts from across the country were asked to create a self-portrait, take a photo, make a quilt or create a drawing or graphic design. Twenty-five of the more than 200 entries were chosen to be displayed at the National Portrait Gallery during its Women’s History Day event. Magruder’s work also was selected to be developed by the Hard Rock Café in Washington into a commemorative Girl Scouts Rock the Mall pin. The pins will be sold at the Hard Rock Café.
