— Geotechnical consultants Triad Engineering of Morgantown, W.Va., begin drilling test bores for the Allegany County Animal Shelter Management Foundation’s planned new Animal Adoption and Care Center on Furnace Street. The foundation recently signed a contract with Stoiber and Associates of Washington, D.C., to provide design, engineering and construction management services for the $2.5 million facility. Construction is set to begin this year with the opening of Phase One of the 11,000-square-foot adoption center planned for 2014.
