Bedford business robbed at gunpoint

State police launch area manhunt

BEDFORD, Pa. —  Pennsylvania State Police are searching for a man who robbed a Bedford business at gunpoint Tuesday afternoon.

The suspect, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants and brown boots, displayed a handgun at Crown Jewelers on Lincoln Highway and demanded all the money from the cash drawer. The suspect fled the store on foot, according to a press release provided by Trooper Matthew Auker, the investigating officer.

A videotape of the 4:11 p.m. robbery will be available, said Auker.
