A 16-year-old Cumberland girl was taken to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center following this accident that occurred on Williams Road at about 9:40 a.m. Tuesday. The Allegany County Sheriff’s Office reported the youth was operating a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier eastbound on Williams Road near Precious Springs Road when the vehicle hit a patch of ice, traveled over a small embankment and struck a utility pole. The driver’s injuries were believed to be minor. Baltimore Pike, Bedford Road, Bowman’s Addition and District 16 volunteers responded along with the County Roads Department.

W.Va. board to meet this week to discuss dangerous animals
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — A board tasked with compiling a list of animals that are illegal to keep as pets in West Virginia will consider one that’s shorter than a list suggested earlier.
Media outlets report the state Wild and Dangerous Animal Board will meet on Wednesday as it tries to comply with legislation passed earlier this year.
