— BEDFORD, Pa. —  Alleged assault of a Virginia Beach, Va., woman led to the arrest of a New Paris man early Monday, Pennsylvania State Police said.

The victim reportedly met Travis Jason Chew, 40, on Facebook and the two met in person Feb. 6.

On Feb. 9, Chew and the woman argued at his residence on Quaker Valley Road in East Saint Clair Township, police said. Chew allegedly refused to allow the woman to leave and then duct taped her hands behind her back and taped her legs together.

A neighbor called state police to report a possible disturbance inside the residence. Police found the victim duct taped inside the residence where Chew was then placed under arrest.

The victim apparently did not require medical treatment.

Chew was charged with simple assault, kidnapping, unlawful restraint and harassment following investigation by Pennsylvania State Trooper Michael Taylor.

Chew appeared before Magisterial District Judge Tonya Osman before he was jailed on $125,000 bond at the Bedford County Jail, pending a preliminary hearing Feb. 20.
