School makeup days revised again
CUMBERLAND — The last day of school for Allegany County public school students will be June 10 due to the need for snow makeup days, according to the board of education. Their final day will be a three-hour early dismissal. The last day of school for teachers will be June 18.
Students will also go to school the last two days of spring break — April 4 and 5. “I have received input from teachers, administrators and parents regarding the assignment of makeup days,” said Superintendent of Schools David Cox. “While no solution is without its drawbacks, I believe that instructional days in April have greater value than those later in June. It is with this recognition that I recommended using the last two days of the tentatively scheduled spring break as makeup days. This solution still provides our students, staff and their families with four school days off for spring break.”
