McHenry man charged in alleged assault of woman, 21-month-old

Victims treated at hospital

MCHENRY — Garrett County sheriff’s deputies arrested a McHenry man late Friday in connection with the alleged assault of a 22-year-old woman and a 21-month-old child at a Pysell Road residence.

Zachary James Fultz, 20, was charged with second-degree assault, child abuse, possession of a dangerous weapon, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and alcohol endangerment following the 11:10 p.m. incident.

A search of Fultz revealed him to be carrying metal knuckles and suboxone, a controlled dangerous substance, deputies said.

He was transported to the Garrett County Detention Center and was awaiting a bond hearing on Saturday.

The victims were reportedly treated at Garrett Memorial Hospital for their injuries.
