Safety Day today at Sears store

LAVALE — Sears Safety Day will be held today from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Sears at Country Club Mall.

Free activities will include a Maryland State Police crash simulator, professional child safety seat inspections, Allegany County Sheriff’s Office prescription drug drop-off, Allegany County 911 Center phone simulators, Masons East Gate Lodge child ID packets, Allegany and Mineral Counties Crime Solvers, and Cresaptown Volunteer Fire Department with fire units and the fire escape house.


Red Cross sets blood drives

CUMBERLAND — The American Red Cross has scheduled the following blood drives in West Virginia.

• Monday, 1:30 to 5:30 p.m., Pendleton County Library, Franklin.

• Oct. 29, 1 to 7 p.m., Paw Paw Fire Hall.

• Oct. 31, 2 to 7 p.m., Mathias-Baker Rescue Squad.
