RIDGELEY, W.Va. — A public hearing will be held to discuss a solution to help the Ridgeley Community Center become a more profitable entity.
The community center is being rented out for events and makes about $700 to $800 a month, but it’s not enough to make the monthly payments that include insurance, taxes and utilities, according to Mayor Lynn Carr.
“We are keeping it open. We are going to have open discussion to get residents’ opinions. It’s their tax dollars that are being spent and they deserve a say so on what goes on,” said Carr.
Leasing the community center could be a possibility, according to Carr.
A decision on the community center will be made during the Dec. 10 town meeting.
The public hearing will be held Dec. 4 at 6 p.m. in the community center.
