Keyser man jailed on DUI charge after hitting house

KEYSER, W.Va. — A Keyser man was arrested early Friday just minutes after after his vehicle reportedly struck a house on South Water Street, according to the Keyser Police Department.

The incident was reportedly shortly after 1 a.m., when the Mineral County 911 center received a call that a vehicle had struck the concrete porch of a residence in the first block of South Water Street.

The suspect vehicle, a 1997 Chevrolet Blazer, was located minutes later on Carscaden Lane by Keyser Police. The location is several blocks away from Water Street.

Police arrested the driver, Troy M. White, 42, on a charge of aggravated driving under the influence and a traffic violation of striking a fixed object.

Following arrest processing, White was taken to the Potomac Highlands Regional Jail where he remained jailed Friday afternoon on bond of $2,300 set by a Mineral County magistrate.

Police said the residence sustained damages but the occupants did not have to vacate the property.

Keyser Police are continuing to investigate the incident. Mineral County Sheriff’s Department assisted in the response.
