MVA employees support Haley House

CUMBERLAND — Employees at the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration have been supporting Haley House, a local 8-year-old girl who is fighting brain cancer. She is the daughter of Jen and Buddy House and was first diagnosed in January 2013.

Haley underwent surgery and chemotherapy.  In January 2014, a new tumor was found. She is currently doing radiation, chemotherapy and physical therapy at Johns Hopkins every week.

Her story can be found on Facebook under Holding Hands for Haley. Green is Haley’s favorite color so MVA employees often wear green to show support for her. The branch had canisters set out to collect money and also raffled items to help the family with medical expenses, gas and other fees associated with traveling.

Ashleigh Clise, the daughter of MVA employee, had 12 inches of her hair cut and donated to Locks of Love in honor of Haley.

An account is set up at the South Cumberland Branch M&T Bank under Haley House for donations to the family.
